MERS alert: South Koera closes schools, quarantines 1,600 as 3rd patient dies

The Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus has South Korea in massive panic. So far three people have been killed and over 1,600 people are in quarantine. Up to 7,000 tourists have canceled plans to visit the country.

MERS is related to SARS, or Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, which has killed around 800 people globally after it first broke out in China in 2002.
